If it was front wheel drive, that's about right. If it was rear wheel drive that might be a bit high but if the old one was really trashed it might be reasonable.

The bearing costs $4.95 at any parts store. The grease to pack it with costs about a quarter. The labor is thirty to 45 minutes, depending on whether the mechanic has an air wrench.

Removing and replacing a wheel bearing is pretty simple...$200 is a lot for that job.

Well it all depends on the type of vehicle you have. One way to find out is call a parts store and ask how much the part is. A shop that is respectable will usually charge 1.5 times that. Also you must consider the labor time. The standard in the industry is to go by the Mitchell labor guide, So call another shop and ask them how much they charge to replace a bearing on your car.

Sounds about right for a front wheel drive car. The parts are real cheap but the labor is high. Takes some expensive tools in most cases. Two hundy sounds like a fair deal.

What kind of vehicle? Front wheel drive you are looking at around $100.00 - $125.00 for the hub/bearing assembly and about 1 - 1.5 hrs. labor. You did alright. Standard rear wheel drive car, thats about $125.00 to much for a basic bearing replacement.

Depends on what car you have. It could range from $100 for an average car to exceeding $10000, for a car like Ferrari or Lambo or Maybach.
