Thanks to your_mom. I thought this point needed to be brought out. Democrats are evidently in denial of their roots.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ku_Klux_Klan
"The Klan's first incarnation was in 1866, and was "directly linked with the Democratic Party, which likewise championed a return of near-servile status to emancipated blacks"[1]. Founded by veterans of the Confederate Army, its main purpose was to resist Reconstruction, and it focused as much on intimidating "carpetbaggers" and "scalawags" as on putting down the freed slaves. It quickly adopted violent methods."

The dems of today feed off of:
Class Warfare
&
Racial Warfare

I notice many similarities of fanatical liberals today and the founders of the KKK.

Just look at San Francisco.

Here's another little gem:
Most people, especially dems, don't realize (or don't admit) that Planned Parenthood was founded by a racist woman (Margaret Sanger) whose mission was to eradicate black people by preventing them from giving birth in the first place. It was her solution to laws that prevented her from outright murdering them in the streets.
Now their mission is to just eliminate the innocent regardless of race.

You are truly something - moronic. You talk about history. Well, different political affiliations changed over the years. If you look at history, those Democrats you were talking about have become today's Republicans (if you noticed, it says 1866, so how many years was that?) Another thing, they were made by Democrats from THE SOUTH. Why would Democrats from the NORTH WHO JUST FOUGHT THE CIVIL WAR TO END SLAVERY MAKE A GROUP CALLED THE KU KLUX KLAN????? Wasn't JFK a Democrat? Wasn't he a part of the Civil Rights Movement? Who was against the Civil Rights Movement? Wasn't it Republicans of today????

You do not take responsibility for your actions, much like the Republicans of today. bush is screwing up the country, and you blame Clinton. bush put us in debt, you say Clinton did it. The fight against terrorism is going south, and you state Clinton should have done something about it while he was in office. THAT WAS 6 YEARS AGO. YOUR President is screwing the world up. Start taking RESPONSIBILITY FOR ONCE.

Well back then both political parties had different ideologies than they do now. The Republicans back then were what Democrats are today. The Democrats back then were what Republicans are today. Besides, in the South both parties were pretty much the same. Besides, any Democrat that was linked to the KKK later on severed their ties with them.

"The Redeemers were a loose political coalition in the southern United States during the Reconstruction era, who sought to re-establish the rule of white supremacy by overthrowing the Radical Republican coalition of Freedmen, carpetbaggers and Scalawags. They were the southern wing of the Bourbon Democrats, the conservative, pro-business wing of the Democratic Party. Their membership was from diverse social, economic and political backgrounds."

And those used to be people who supported the Republican party. Conservative, pro business? Sounds like a true Republican to me. Most of the people were Republicans before they joined the Redeemers.

The point is, you can't place racism on one political party. They're everywhere.

Let me tell you that my great uncle on my father's side hated FDR as did most of the people in our small southern town , back in the 40's . While visiting , I saw some of his friends pick him up in a truck load of men . I was a child of 6 and didn't understand what they were talking about , when they said they had found a ...... and were going to ..... him . Years later after we moved North I knew what they were talking about and asked my mother about it she said that he was a member of the KKK . She was from the North and a life long Democrat and my father's family were from the South and were strong Republicans .

HAHAHA... come on... you can't even be taking this one seriously?

if you do take it seriously... you may want to come down south and see who has which attitudes...

the very basis of the KKK is in conservative ideas... conserving the "white race" and traditional ideas...

if you think Democrats are conservatives in todays world, then your argument starts to make sense... but since most don't consider Democrats to be conservatives... your argument seems to be off...

HAHAHA... what similarities do you see between "SF liberals" and the southern founders of the KKK? I don't really see any, but now I'm curious?

Ya it true. The Freed slaves also voted almost always as republicans back then because Lincoln was seen as the one who freed them.

Time change don't they. Former party that once claimed they were property and people has managed to get the group to believe they have their well being in mind.

those who have versus the have nots. was it not always that way despite what they say. who really cares about lower class citizens anyways? it seems more like middle class versus everyone else. I don't find the democrat-ic parties ties with the KKK surprising because parties just seem to *** kiss their way into power and the KKK was powerful around that time. heck yea they were.
