I need to replace a busted oil pan gasket, do I have to take the engine out of the car to do this, and if I do, do I have to buy a pricey engine crane?

you shouldn't have to remove the engine from it,,i have done it before,,i own a repair shop in Tennessee,,and to the best of my memory you can get it off and on,,without removing the engine,,you may have to loosen a mount to jack it up a little on one side,,good luck with it,,i hope this helps.

No you do not have to pull the motor. You have to drop the sub frame and then take the pan down. Pulling the engine is way to much work. It's not an easy job have a tech do it.
