I'm partial to rowing a boat out to the middle of a lake at sunset. A good conversation about your times together and the love you feel. Then, when the time is right, propose. I feel it should be simple and intimate. It should be something just the two of you experience and share. Champagne, picnic, a flower? You can include those things if you like. Just don't stand up in the boat!!!

Have you ever seen Step-Mom with Julia Roberts & Ed Harris? If you haven't than I suggest you rent it. His proposal to her was the most original & sweetest thing I have ever seen. Incase you can't rent; He had a ring case but when she opened it there was thread and a a sewing needle. He then tied a loose knot around the tip of her finger and talked about how he was going to make sure they were "tied tightly togther" blahblah then he slipped the ring on to the other end of the thread and let it slip into her finger. It was beautiful.

Take her on a "mystery" ride to the place you guys first kissed, dated, or the place you were when you realized you wanted to spend the rest of your life with her. Have a back up car with a buddy and a camera. Propose, take a photo, then have your friend leave. Take out a picnic basket from your trunk with champagne, brownies and strawberries and enjoy. It will be memorable!!

gather all your family members and meet in a public place. have them scattered about so she doesn't notice them and bring up the fact that both your families get along and let her know that destiny brought you two 2 gether and as everyone closes in on you two, and she starts noticing family members tell her that you love her and you want to spend the rest of you life with her,
