When listening to a boring story, try subtly cut them off and begin to tell them a tale that is similar. Usually you will end the boring one and different stories will suddenly emerge.

just think of something else thats wonderful and blank out once in awhile and then come back and act ur really into the story. or just think that after the story ur going to get a gift for listening lol.

Smile. Nod your head. Think about something pleasant but keep track of what's being said. If you fail then RUN RUN RUN.

I look them in the eye and i nod every couple of times just so they know i am listening. just look and nod.....look and nod ;p

with my eyes crossed and then i start to twitch.. and drool, then i drop to the floor in a seizure in hopes that they get the hint.
