I know it's kind of like a stolen base but I still don't get it.

It's when someone steals a base at the end of a baseball game when they're already losing the game, and the defensive team doesn't even bother trying to stop them cause it doesn't matter to them. It doesn't count as an actual stolen base in the box score.

It is when a runner "steals" second, but does so in, for example, the ninth inning with his team trailing by five runs. Because his run would mean nothing, the defense simply allows him to take the extra base. When indifference is ruled, the runner does not get credit for a stolen base.

Batman's explanation is correct. Defensive indifference generally only occurs in the ninth inning when the team in the field leads by more than one run and the risk presented by the runner taking second or third is less than the risk of having the pitcher distracted by the runner and the first baseman out of position to hold the runner on base.

Stolen Base only the defense doesn't hold him or throw down to the base because if the run doesn't scrore it wont matter.

Its when someone steals the base but the defense doesnt try to get them because the runner doesnt really matter at that point in the game

Runner(s) advancing a base without catcher throwing to base to get a out.

it means the pitcher doesnt really care if that runner is in scring position, because if he scored, it wouldn't matter. That usually happens with a 4 run + lead!, and 2 outs!

It's like me. I'm adamant about people leaving me alone. They always want to interview you or survey you or some such nonsense.

In my profile I say I'm deeply uncommited.
