Yes, I agree with starrwoode. It does sound that your friend may be having mini strokes. I am 30, and my old neighbor is 31. She took her sons to the barbershop, and all she remembers was shaking and her legs "giving out" on her, and she fell to the floor thinking "why can't I get up?" Well, she heard the old man that owned the barbershop on the phone with 911 stating "possible stroke victim." My friend recalled that she was shocked to hear him say "stroke." Well, she did indeed have a stroke. She was a 2 pack a day smoker, ate greasy, unhealthy fatty foods, and did not exercise, or drink water. I honestly can say that I always saw her drinking orange soda pop! Crazy. Well, fast forward, a year later, and she still walks with a limp, her left hand is stiff and she cannot straighten her left arm. Your friend may be about to have the "big one." I commend you for wanting to help her. You must tell her to see her health care provider immediately. Her life depends on it. Good luck.

OK, this is a problem
She could have side effects from ANY recreational drug, especially cocaine in that it causes high blood pressure and can cause stroke, no matter what the age.
Her symptoms being so localized, it is most likely neurologic. I would suggest seeing a neurologist.
Also, being a young female increases her risk of MS. THis is a disease that is described in "time and space." meaning that she may have symptroms at one time, that go away, and she gets totally different symptoms later on.
Your friend NEEDS to seek out her doctor, or just go to the emergency department. I do think this is serious, or else I would not have replied to this message
Be a friend, get her to a doctor

Something is wrong nerologically, meaning the nervous system/brain. She could have a brain bleed, it happens. She could be having ministrokes. If she doesn't mind being a cripple or Teri Shivo, or worse, then that's her problem. But if she does want help, she needs to see a doctor as soon as possible. You are her friend? You love this person? Then get off your butt and drag her to a doctor or an ER when it is actively happening. the more it happens the worse the damage, until there is no repairing it. Could be MS.

If she's 17 and has blood pressure problems AND smokes marijuana - is she overweight? She could be at risk for a stroke. Strokes can cause some of the symptoms you listed above. Why hasn't she told her parents yet?? She doesn't have to tell them she's using drugs - Just make sure she tells them about the weakness and shaking and that they get her to her MD ASAP - Like tomorrow!

I would say she most certainly needs to see a doctor and be completely honest about the drug usage. I am fairly sure it is not the cause but will help him eliminate some guesses and know what to expect in the blood work.
I don't want to frighten anyone but the age is right as are he symptoms for MS. Make sure she follows up with a doctor soon.

Well those types of symptoms can be casued by a wide variety of causes, some of them smoking related and others that may be caused by other things. She should speak to a docot about this asap it can be a nerver, heart, blood levels, neurological ect. She should also highly consider quitting smoking becasue that's only ganna cause more problems.

starrwoode is right and there is a very short time window (like 2-3 hours) to get help for a stroke before side effects are permanent.
