it can be the soap and it can be diabetes, my back itches too and it did for about two years before my diabetes was diagnosed

By a hypoallergenic soap...something with no fragrance or too many oils. Or get something that's meant for babies....It would be best for sensitive skin. Have you checked you laundry detergent and/or fabric softener? Those may be causing the itch.

your skin on your back could be very dry whick causes the iching
try aveeno bath products as well the aveeno lotion for dry skin
this will help solve the problem

the main reason is because it knows you can,t reach it but on the real tip it is probably dry skin. turn the hot water down a little. and have some one put lotion on your back
