This is a tough one...and I hate to say it, because I really like the guy, but probably Kevin Garnett. I agree that he has never had a stellar sidekick to play alongside him, but he's played with enough talent around him over the years, that I think it's unexcusable he's only taken his team past the first round of the playoffs once in his entire career (they ended up losing to the Lakers that season in the Western Conference Finals). Even Iverson, Kidd, Miller, Wade, Nowitzki, Ben Wallace and Payton were all able to find away to crash the finals party at least once. To get there and lose is one thing (especially if you were unfortunate enough to have to face Michael Jordan), but to never get there at all?? Other candidates: McGrady, Ming, Vince Carter, and Webber.

HAHHAHAHAH i was going to attempt to answer this question, but insted......Which morons said kevin garnett, he is the second best big man in the league (tim duncan#1) and with the right coach and some rings could make himself one of the greatest ever. It might be a bit late for him, but karl malone never won any rings, and would you say he isnt one of the best ever?.....he is averaging upwards of 20-10-5 for his career, one of the best offensive players in the game which nicely compliments his fantastic defence, either in the post or on the perimeter. big ticket rules. i bet u are the same people who call dwayne wade the best player in the league, right? fkin moron man
by the way the most overrated player in the league is steve nash, back-to-back MPVs for a guy who plays less defence than most 6th men. what a pile o crap, great passer, good scorer and a nice player, but a horrible MVP.
!go lakers!

It has to be either Yao Ming based on the fact he isnt as good as he should be for his height (he's and upgraded Shawn Bradley in my opinion) or Lebron James becasue everyone hypes him up so much becasue they believe hes exactly like Jordan and everyone loves Jordan casue they think hes the best....I was thinking about putting Jordan since everyone says he's number 1...he's really number 3 behind Magic and CHamberlain but two spots difference isnt enough to call him the MOST overrated.

I have to say Kevin Garnett, too. He gets labeled as a superduperstar, but in reality, he's the ultimate sidekick. He's a three quarter player. I watched him defer to Ricky Davis, Marcus Banks, and Mark Blount in the closing minutes of a really tight, winnable game. KG took one shot in the whole 4th quarter. If it was just one game, I could excuse it, but he does it on a regular basis. He consistently doesn't show up at winning time. By not showing up, I don't mean he doesn't hit the big shots; he won't even take them. Now, his talent is unquestionable, but his rating is. He's overrated.

its STUPID to say garnett, you're taking examples from one or two seasons in one situation and extrapolating them to cover his entire career. did you watch the rest of those games, and how complete his game is? he is the one player who can play all five positions as well as nearly anyone in the NBA. Not all players are noteable for their ability in the clutch, but that doesn't make them over-rated.
As for me, i would say nikoloz tzikitishvili, anyone remember how he was supposed to be garnett/nowitzki. or I would say ndudi ebi, who came out of high school the same year as lebron, he was CUT after almsot three years, having played a career total of like 38 NBA minutes. he gave up a scholarship to arizona, and now he's out of the NBA basically for good

If you put melo = moron; do you see what he is doing with team USA and he led the sorry nuggets to the playoffs.
If you put kobe = idiot; 81 points and pushing the suns to 7 games in the playoffs
the real answer is the entire New York Knicks backcourt- Marbury and Francis.
