If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

I began using it around 4 months ago and though I have never had severe acne I have experiences quite a few break outs that are just a nightmare -

Anwya - I do believe that proactive works, and I just had to reorder, a little goes a long way!

I hope it works for you. I heard a radio commercial today saying you can get an introductory month supply for $19.99 - and that is all I purchased initally - and it lasted MUCH longer than a month with religious use. They gave me a free tea mask also - but I have only used it once! Again, GOOD LUCK!

Like most medications, proactive works well for some people and not others. I've heard some very good things about it. I hope you have a successful experience with it. If you do, it might be useful to give feedback elsewhere on Yahoo so that others may understand your recommendation either way.

It did NOT work for me and I followed the directions perfectly. I wasted alot of money for a complicated process that didn't work. It may work for you though. I have found that cheap creams containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide work wonderfully and quickly. You can usually find a store brand potent cream with either chemical that is around $3-$4 or less. Acne is so frustrating!

pro active never worked for me i didn't even see a difference. i stayed on it for 4 months . It works for alot of people i think my acne was to severe. it's been 2.5 yrs since proactive and i'm still trying to find a cure.

what happened to me is that I used it and it worked good but problem for me is that if I stopped using it for a few days then the acne came back worse then it was from before I began using. So it seems like they make you dependant on it by making it work but when u stop it's worse so then you have to keep going with it. But maybe it's just me cuz I heard nothing but good from others I know, I stopped using it. Good luck!

I use the generic that you buy at wal mart and it is amazing! I was surprised that it worked so well for me, YAY for me I don't have to spend $30.00 a month, I spend less than half that!!! So I would imaging if this works that good than proactiv would probably work this good as well.

My cousins, sister and I have been using it for years and it really leave your skin looking nice and gets rid of acne if you use it religiously...meaning everyday though all skin is different its worth a try!

yes actually it does. i'e been using it for overa year now and i haven't seen a pimple on my face in so long. no little bumps no zits no blackheads and no big red pimples! you should really try it. i highly reccommend it.
