I am currently working at a job that im not overly fond of. Im underpaid and not really fond of my superiors since they seem to try and rip off us employees. Anyhow my friend got me an interview at another company of which i went today. So heres my problem. The pay is great and they seem like a nice company BUT they are about an hour away from where I live and gas prices are insane so this would rack up a lot of money, also the staff is all men and I am a girl, not my main concern tho and also I have a long term/short term goal to work under my aunt who does work like this. I dont like the idea of changing jobs just like that because of all the new faces but I sure dont want to stay there forever. Any advice? No stupid remarks pls

My aunt doesnt know about this yet and I am currently going to school to learn what my aunt does so I can work under her.

Sounds like the new job offers lots of potential advantages...more money, better people, plus you get experience in something you eventually want to do with your aunt...the one drawback is distance, but nothing's ever perfect. Maybe you could find someone to carpool with, which would cut down on the gas expenses?
If you DO choose to leave...make sure you give your current employer at least a two-week notice...that's the professional thing to do, and you want to leave with a little class.

It's going to be your own decision in the end, but I have been in your situation. I think you should put aside the hangup about being the only girl at this new place. I say call in sick at your crap job and take the interview. When you're talking salary, mention casually that you live an hour away and would like it if they will comp you for mileage / gas expenses and show them why you're worth the extra pay. They'll either love you for your confidence and forwardness, or they'll think you cocky and overzealous, but you won't know til you try. Still, taking the chance is better than being stuck in a job where you are treated like garbage. You have to consider your own emotional wellbeing too. If you're not happy on a job, you're not going to do well at it. If you're happy on a job, it will make the other inconveniences like travel time seem worth it. Weigh your options though, and see if it's a chance you want to take.

good luck

I wouldn't stay at a job where you are both underpaid and your superiors act unethically. The new job offer may be a longer drive, but the pay is better, so the "keep at home" pay will be about the same or more for you. Your new boss will probably be a lot easier to work for. So other than losing some time having to drive farther.....you should be happier at the new job.

Go for it, right up to the point of accepting the job.
If you do get offered the job, then yup its a little bit mean on thier second choice, but only a little bit since they will gte the job eventually.
What it will do for you is boost your confidence in looking for a more viable alternative to what you are doing at the moment.

If you really want to go, then do it, but look closer to you unless you want to move, and know being the only chick those guys are going to be tough on you and their jealous girlfriends even worse Is it worth it?
