Babies can start drooling as early as two months old. It doesn't necessarily mean that they're teething.

I doubt it.
Babies drool like St. Bernards, it dosn't mean that they are teething.
My oldest daughter drooled like a water faucet her first year, at 14 months she got her first teeth.
As a matter of fact, she got them ALL in within a few days of cutting those first 2 in.

my 4 month old is doing the same thing, smile and drool, chew on the drool rag, drool some more, chew on her stuffed animal, drool some more, nurse and drool,

It is really bad when she chews on her fists.
But, she is discoving she can move them where she wants, and if she makes a fist, she can almost get it in her mouth, she also knows it is great loads of fun to stick the fingers in and gag herself till she puked on mom.
Even when he begins to chew his fists it is highly doubtful.
Youll notice he will stare at his fists and just open and close them, then put it directly in his mouth.

Most babies discover the world by touch and taste, and right now, everything new heads straight for the mouth as a way to check it out.
Now might be a good time to introduce large soft rattles,
and things easily grasped by a small child, and not small enough to fit completely in their mouth.
Large colorful plastic blocks are excellent choices,

MOST babies begin teething about 5 to 7 months.
Notice I said most, because all babies do differant things at differant times.

Anyways, its very doubtful your baby is teething just yet.

If your concerned about the soaked shirts, use a bib, trust me, it works wonders!

very possibly. All toddlers are diverse whilst their the teeth are available, yet drooling, biting on issues and fussiness are many times the tell/tell indications of teething. best of luck! Get some chilly teething toys and cool moist (wrung out) outfits are stable to apply as properly.

No. My son is 6 months (he was born 2 months early) he is drooling big time. I asked my dr. though and she said they do that. She said that the salivary glands are going crazy right now and babies will drool when they are excited or scared. Its normal.

I don't think thats the reason of his drooling...babies do that all the time! :)...If he starts to feel anxious wanting to bite everything he finds on the way...then you can worry about his teething.

Its depends it can take days, weeks or even months. Every child is different. When my son was a baby i thought he was getting teeth for months before one finally came through!!!

It is probably just a hobby he is starting, nothing to do with teething. You do realize that some men keep this as a life long hobby.
