I think we will defeat them eventually. As far as the comparison to the war with Vietnam. They are 2 different countries fought at different times and against different politics. You can't compare the two.

We will win because the oil located in Iraq if left to Jihadist's would affect the American way of life causing high oil prices and such. We will win because someone has to stand up to the Jihadist's Ideology and it sure won't be the Arab's dealing directly with the problem.

Try to understand that we are fighting Islamic Fascist's who's sole goal is to destroy the GREAT SATAN (U.S.A.) and it's allies to include Israel (Little Brother to SATAN). This war in Iraq goes beyond it's borders. It's truly a world war subsequently effecting the way of life in all nations.

My personal opinion is once we are done in Iraq we will end up in some other country fighting a similar problem. I have Fought in 3 different ones so far so I see no end to the Madness till we destroy the driving force behind it all....Islamic Extremism. But I am not complaining. It keeps me employed :)

If Iraq wins they will have a stable govt and the US wins along with the rest of the world. If the insurgents win, then Iraq looses along with the rest of the world. I don't see it in terms of if the US wins or not. The objective is to get a stable democracy in Iraq. It is not a matter of Iraq vs the US, it is the insurgents vs the rest of the world.

Iraq is a no-win situation. We will be forced out of Iraq by the cost of the war and loss of lives etc. public opinion to end it.

The U.S. won. You can always tell when one side wins a war by the total absense of the other sides army. The new Iraqi government wants a U.S. presence there.

This just in, the U.S. also won the war in Afghanistan.

With modern guerrilla warfare Americans winning days are over, for good, you may be able to bombard them back to the stone age, but winning, forget it my friend.
