Because they think kindness is stupid ... they want to be the cleverest, most dishonest, tricky-est, smartest ( dumbest ! ) their egos revolve around fooling people with lies and whatever seems to give them control.
They can't even conceive the simplicity of telling the truth.
Kindness is the truth and the path to further ( understanding ) enlightenment.
Kindness is strength not weakness ! Don't worry about what those who don't understand think.
Nice to meet you ... there are many good people, and some who don't get it at all, but I like meeting people who do.
................... I sent this message to you then I read the answers you got already and many of them are very good ... lotta good people out there.
Good night;
Jonnie

"To give away everything of value is weak. In the past, black slaves gave everything of value"
Dear Deanrwhite,
Why do you blame slaves for being enslaved?
__________
Kindness that IS weakness is not true kindness. LIKE: you sympathize with a junkie, so you give him heroin money. Enabling such a person is a double weakness. However, giving the addict methadone and starting her on a recovery program is kind. Because it is also empowering.
Intention is not sufficient for kind acts. Nor even naive judgment by the immediate parties involved. Seemingly-Kind-Acts often can be weak because they are self-serving or short-sighted. Actual kindness increases with perspective.
So it's grossly misapplied by the majority who do lack perspective ( in the US ..!), and the meaning shifts as a result.

"Kindness" is not that bad but a person should be assertive AND NOT PASSIVE.
A lot of nice people are passive and it goes back to their self-esteem and their inability to assert themselves. Being a doormat for other people IS A WEAKNESS.
Of course aggression can be a sign of weakness also. I pretty much am set on the idea that an *assertive* person lacks most the weaknesses that aggressive and passive people have.

Sometimes when you are kind you have to give up something you value. To give away everything of value is weak. In the past, black slaves gave everything of value. This became ingrained in our culture. Now we must learn a new perspective. As the older generations pass, the new generations will be more open to this reality. I hope I can keep this lesson alive in me and my children.
I believe it is still true giving everything away is weak, but giving of yourself to help others not threatning you is a very powerfull trait.

I guess because being kind isnt in now days, its ''every man for himself'' .... I know, it sucks. Its like where is that defining line between kindness & weakness? Jesus was the only one who wasnt called a punk for being so nice and forgiving which is understandable but I think we should all live like he did....its just hard having to deal with those who got a problem with it and get critisized for it... who knows! Great question :)

Kind people confuse kindness for being a doormat. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is say no. Letting someone use you does not show that you are kind.

Because of the media, we are constantly bombarded with "strong", yet violent and unthinking "hero's". Yet in actuality, being kind is the bravest thing we can do

Maybe because it can make you vulnerable at times. And also maybe because it's kind of abnormal in the world we live in.
