I think its real but my friend has other thoughts

It's as real as it can be for the type of program it is. Strangers are shoved together in front of cameras and are expected to "live" together. Naturally, some are show offs, some are very private and some don't care at all about the cameras being on.

The REAL world is Real. They get cast members that don't know each other and put them in a house together with no scripts or anything so it's real.

It is as real as you can get with manipulation, a script, editing, and people trying to be natural in front of a camera crew that follows them 24/7.

I think it's totally fake...I think they edit what real life is like for these people into something they think the rest of us will want to watch, voyeurs that we are, and script certain things, like putting people who already know each other or are dating into the house.

Yeah its real. But the camera crew engourages for the house mates to cause drama just so there would be more ratings and more people watching.
