what are some good magazines that will accept writings from a 17 year old girl?

i can write about anything they want me too and i am willing to write for free. can you give me some magazines that might accept me? i am also very interested in music, but like i said, i can write about any subject they may want me to.

i don't care if i'm writing for a popular magazine or not.

They don't accept outside submissions, but reading them will definitely improve your own writing and maybe your life...

The Watchtower and Awake! are the first and second most widely circulated religious magazines in the world.

They are available from Jehovah's Witnesses at no charge. A selection of articles is available at their official website:

Get a copy of The Writer's Market. It's an annual volume (huge) that lists the names of magazines and publisher and brief blurbs on what they publish.

Most magazines except freelance submissions which means you write the article and they pay you for it.

Make sure any submissions you make are proffessionally presented in proper manuscript format with no spelling or grammer errors. It seems silly, I know. If the writing's good they should accept it if it's written in crayon right? But these editors have to sift through hundreds of submissions a day. Many of these submissions are by amateurs. Don't mark yourself as one of those.

Finally, don't get discouraged. You might get a lot of rejection notices, especially at first, but if you keep plugging away at it you should eventually get something printed somewhere.
