Anytime you have a % such as 20% move the decimal two places left and you have a number you can easily multiply by.

Example 20% of 5944
is same as .20 x 5944 + 1188.8.

The word "of" signifies multiplication. So to get the correct answer Multiply 20% X 5944=? To convert percentage to decimal divide 20% by 100=.2

Remember "of" means multiply.
