Typicaly an Omen is only present if the symbolic animal presented itself in a way that is out of the usual context of their behavior. For instance roaches typicaly scurry away from the light and are more active at night, also they perfer places where they have a food supply and other conditions suitable for their nesting. So if these giant roaches came in during the bright light of daylight in a place not normaly infested with roaches and their is some context in perhaps your thoughts of the time that suggest that it could be some symbolic message then perhaps an omen. It isnt an omen when symbolic type animals just show up. Its when they show up out of their normal context and while you are thinking about the person place or thing that the omen is about.

Maybe the roaches were escaping something else in the house, like a gas leak or poltergeist.

I think the only omen there is that you place is disgusting and dirty and if you're renting, the landlord ain't gonna be happy.
