Well, I've been experiencing some pretty moderate vaginal itching for about 4 days now. As far as discharge goes, slightly thick and white. I looked up yeast infections and it said discharge is 'cottage cheese' like, (yuck btw) ... I don't see anything like that though. That doesn't necessarily mean I don't have a yeast infection right? Before it's said, I am STD free! And yes, I'm sure, hehe. Any imput would be appriciated. And yes, I know a doctor would be the best way to go other than an online diagnosis. Can I just go buy a yeast infection medication not knowing for sure that I have one? Any harm in that?

I had sex on the second day of this itching with my boyfriend, maybe this is stupid, but can it be passed back to me in any way? Or is that just nonsence?

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

The harm is you could build resistence to the medication.
It really would only take a minute to go in and find out...
Usually itching means infection or yeast infection.

yes go to the local walmart and get gynolotramin about 20 bucks or less, and you will be fine in a few days. after that wash your hands any time you are touching yourself or letting anyone else touch you , and after, and are you diabetic? its really a common problem with us diabetics. if the gynolotramin doesnt cure it in however many days it says on the package, then its something else. but its likely the yeast, or candida which is its proper name.

There is no harm in doing that, buy an package and just follow the direction.
I have treated my self many times, and the itching goes away. If it does not go away then you know that it is something else.
No harm in treating your self.
Good Luck

:-) i say if you're std free you are safe to use monistat without worrying about it being anything else, and no, yeast doesn't build up a resistance to the cremes.....
