I go running and my feet start burning at the bottom. It gets to the point that I have to stop. I wear socks and I actually have clean feet so it's not a matter of me having some kind of athlete's foot or anything like that. I've tried wearing two pairs of socks and that just makes it worse! I think it's from the friction of my shoes and bottom of my feet - It mostly happens in the area of my pinkie toes. I was going to try some gel soles to put in, but I'm not quite sure. Have any of you had this problem? If so, what did you do to fix it? Thanks so much for your help. XO

You mean hot as is in hot to the touch, or hot as in a burning pain? If hot to the touch, wear lighter shoes and socks. and make sure the shoe is not rubbing you. If a hot, burning pain, the shoe may be too tight, squeezing the nerves running to your toes. Get shoes with a wider "toe box" i.e. more room for the toes. A third possibility is a "bunionette", if you have a bump at your 5th toe (sort of like a bunion, but on the opposite side of the foot from the big toe). Again, wear WIDE toe box shoes.

I've never had this problem because I've never been a runner. If you think it's your shoes...try running with a different kind. Or maybe put some gold bond or powder on the bottom of your feet. Might help but I really don't know for sure.

I used to get the same thing from wearing socks to play basketball before school, in the mornings. It is caused by friction.. Need to get better fitting running shoes or tighten the ones you have.

welll. it could be that your socks are the things that are irritating it. are you allergic to a certain synthetic fiber? it can happen. since you say you dont have athletes foot, i'm not going to tell you to pee on your feet while in the shower, but that really is the best solution. i'm on the swim team and i tend to get bad athletes foot when i practice, but, i started peeing on my feet (please dont respond with and "eew") and within three days, it cleared up. my cousin told me this, and hes not what you would call the fastest computer in best buy, but he was right about that. try to avoid running for a while. it could just be your shoe. maybe you have something in it? i dont know, check your shoes!

Try different shoes. You might have some blood sugar problems.Foot doctor or shoe store. Shoe stores might sell you anything though. If you walk with splayed feet this can cause problems too.

Try getting diabetic socks...these breath and actually help reduce the heat in your feet by convection....You can get them at most department stores.
...also add a little powder to your shoes.

Make absolutely sure you are buying shoes that are the correct size, both length and width.Every shoe store has a device to measure your feet.It sounds like you have way too much movement going on.

Yes, the burning sensation could be caused by athlete's foot. Treat your feet for that....get a spray at the drug store to cure it.....even your shoes need to be treated, because it's caused by a fungus.

There are actually cooling socks out there. Ones that move the sweat away from from your skin.
That should do the trick.
Also look for mesh running shoes that have vents.

Change the style of socks you wear when running. Here is such a website: www.asicsamerica.com
