I was advised in 1981 to plead guilty to a crime I did not commit. I received 2 years probation.
As I am not guilty of this crime, I desire to appeal.
Are there any Montana attorneys interested in handling an appeal?

To brrobins. I knew I was not guilty of this crime before I even had any legal proceedings.

You need to sit down with a legal expert. There are many older lawyers who will advise you on the proper course. Montana is one of the few states that will look into your case after a lengthy time. It will go to review with a judge. He will weigh the evidence. If you win this, your alleged crime will be cleared from the books.

Forget about an appeal..its way too late. If you live in the US u might want to try getting a pardon from the governor of the state you were convicted in. You will need a lawyer...big $$$ and clear convincing evidence of your innocence. These pardons dont happen often either.

you cannot simply appeal a decision because you don't like the outcome. an appeal is only available when there was a legal reason that the outcome was "wrong" (such as a biased judge, inadequate legal representation etc)

your only course of action at this point would be to apply for a pardon

You plead guilty. You should never let someone talk you into pleading something you're not. Don't think you can appeal a guilty plea.

It seems that you are 15 years too late. When did you realize you were not guilty of this crime?

It's far too late to appeal this. What took you so long to decide you wanted to fight this matter?
