It may not become a NATIONAL monument, but it will be a huge tourist attraction. The more famous the person, the bigger the attraction.
For somthing to become a National monument, congress must vote for it.

Your house (A house...) would not qualify to be a MONUMENT, but it is possible it could qualify as a national historical site.
To answer your question, that would be up to the National Historical Society. You have to submit an application and I am sure it is a lengthy one.

Are you kidding or are you just VERY sleepy? If a famous person dies in your house, it makes it the scene of the crime. ( a liitle humor,late at night.)
