DArk Shadows. it was the first soap opera that guys could watch and not get laughed at.
i was in a boarding school at and at 4 pm, there were 25 guys watching this show. Sixth, seventh and eights graders, watching what Barnabus Collins would do next.
Man, that theme song was creepy.

Dark Shadows was my favorite. I remember pestering my mother about the time because I didn't want to miss a minute of the show. It was one of the few times all the neighborhood kids would quite playing to go home, watch the show, and then come back to talk about what happened. If you did not watch Dark Shadows, no one wanted to talk to you. Being allowed to watch a vampire show was cool.

I used to watch both. I recently went to Maine and we checked to see if there was a real Collinsport. I loved Dark Shadows, the old soap and the newer version in the early 90's. It was pure camp.
Edge of night had great actors passing thru Monticello. In fact there was at least one actor that appears on both....Joel ???

I only remember Dark Shadows, vaguely. I was a small child, but I remember it being really cool and cutting edge. Didn't they have a character named Quentin? Its been a long time.
