Terrier dogs are hunters, you're right. But it all depends on your dog and it's idiosyncracies. My roommate has a dog that eats everything in sight, but won't pay any attention to her bird if she puts it on his back while he's laying down. Any two animals can get along at any point, it's really up to chance, and maybe some training if it's possible.

The only thing i would worry about is that ferrets are extremely susceptible to canine distemper. make sure you have both of them vaccinated before they play with eachother!

Be very careful, don't take any chances. Both parts of your mix are hunting dogs and probably have the instincts to attack the ferret.
That being said, I have a beagle who gets along wonderfully with my ferrets. She is a hound as well but just an exception. Her breeder was even surprised she got along so well with our cats.

I had three ferrets and they like to play rough. It's not like they mean any harm in it, but they assume all creatures have skin as tough as theirs. Introduce them slowly and always supervise. That's the best advice I can give. My dogs never wanted to go near my ferrets, but I know that some become friends. Just be careful and never trust them alone together 100%.

I have a two pugs and a cat. The dogs don't have a problem with the ferret. They don't look very interested when she is out and about. The cat however is very interested and tries to catch her. I tend to lock the cat up in a bedroom when the ferret is out but I don't worry about the cat.
