I'm going to be a junior as of September, and I do very well in school. I've been to a few college fairs but I've never found Columbia at any of them, not even the National College Fair at Javits Center.

If possible I'd like some information on financial aid, preferred SAT scores and such. I've searched the the site at M.I.T., no offense to it but it didn't really help me, that or I didn't search hard enough.

Just looking for some nice outside (or inside if anyone has attended or is currently attending the schools) info.

now i'm going to answer your question(you "answered" my violin question..

I'm in high school as well, but i know a lot about the top colleges. especially within the ivys. Universities like Columbia and M.I.T. don't show up as often as other colleges do, simply because the acceptance rate is lower, and less people are prepared to attend those universities. If you go to Boreders, there is a section of reference books about lots of top colleges and all the information you need to know about the requirements and such.

When you said you do very well in school, you need to be more specific. I do very well in school also, and possibly am the valedictorian. However, i don't see much hope of me getting into M.I.T because there are other people i know who do as well as me in other schools and have lots of extra-curric. You need to score at least around 1400s on the old SAT. Most of the people are the top 5%-10% of their school. And you need to show your talent and why you deserve to go to those schools compare with the other top students.
