Good one. I like the classic because of the oompas and the songs. But the New one is great because it really shows how twisted Wonka really is.

Johnny Depp is fine, but I prefer the 1971 version best. Could be because I was a child when I saw the first one and so it was more real to me then (I was more into it). Or, it could be that when I went to see the 2005 version, I took some extra kids to see it and so I took a Xanax before going (so that I wouldn't want to beat the crap out of one of those extra kids) and I just don't remember much at all about it.

Charlie & the Chocolate Factory (2005)
It stayed truer to the book. The songs were too repetative in the first one. Overall, I liked all the actors better in the newer version.

the 1971 is the best of the 2 ,but the 2005 version has the best graphics

I prefer 2005 because I love Johnny Depp. He plays those parts so well. My husband says 1971 hands down, but he can't stand Johnny Depp.
