Third parties are just like republican and democrat whereas independants have no party affiliation. Here is a list you might like

In the legal context a "third party" is a person or any other legal entity not directly involved in a lawsuit. Informally "third party" also refers to other people who are not directly related.
"Independent parties" usually refers to independent political parties, not an independent person. By the way, this question is funny.

Third party means other than Democrats and R*********s.
