You see, sometimes we really don't know whether the asker is serious or not, we don't want to hurt the asker's feeling. can you imagine, you are trying to tell something serious to your friends, and they give you some stupid answer, not helping at all because they think you're joking, how deos that makes you feel? angry, irritated and lots of stupid feeling? that's what some people trying to avoid, so that they will get the 10 points for the best answer.
p/s: Is this a serious question?

Just to colect points or simply because they are ignorant and just don't know any better, either way I ignore them. Then tend to say even more outlandish things.
