There's not a great way of preventing this yet. Microsoft is beginning to dabble with message privacy settings. It's very limited and only available if both the sender and reciever use Outlook 2003. Find out more using the link below.

How do you prevent a letter from being read by others? You don't. But an email is more like a postcard. Open and circling the globe on the electronic cloud. And it can be read by anyone, and it gets stored somewhere. If you're concerned about privacy, don't email anything you'd be embarrassed to have published.

When you send someone an e-mail,. you are implicitly giving them the power to read, copy, forward, print, or publish it.

Don't send anything in an e-mail that you wouldn't want published on a web site, or forwarded to your mother.

In short no, once you send a email, just like a letter, its no longer your property. You give up all rights to who reads it, and forwards it. Just make sure you trust the person you are sending it to.

You can't...that's why it's a good idea as a rule never to send sensitive/confidential information to anyone by e-mail.

If you have sent it to someone, then it's no longer in your control... this is how I took the question..
