Because at this time in history (and when that happened as well) people don't think someone's faith or nationality are relevant (or at least they shouldn't be) within the context of that particular remark
People know when something has an offensive flavor to it and when it doesn't. For example, if someone were talking about a lot of people taking off a Jewish holiday in Hollywood, and someone said, "There are a lot of Jewish people in Hollywood" - not offensive within that context.
The choice of words in the quote you give, and the presumed context in which it was made, is different.
We all know what's offensive and what isn't. There is the matter of context, choice of words, relevance, and need for some remarks; and if the remark doesn't pass any of those measures its likely its got no value other than intended or implied offense.

Marlon Brando was a loose cannon; his mouth overloaded his a55hole. His journey along and upward in Hollywood was always being tampered with by bosses who were Jewish. But, let's not forget he was recruited to play in Superman and The Godfather, recruited by Jews. He played the part of an American Nazi in the epic sage Roots. He once said that part allowed his inner self to be exposed.

Perhaps he should have said "I have observed that there are many Jewish people who through hard work have achieved positions of power within the entertainment industry. This seems to me to be especially prevalent within the movie industry in Hollywood. Perhaps we can all take a lesson from the work ethic that has helped a community of people achieve such success. Of course I am indebted to them for my very existence and thank them from the bottom of my heart for the opportunities their work has provided me throughout my long and successful career."
Is that less offensive? Just wondering.

Because its anti-semetic (like alot of these answers!) There is no need to generalize a whole group of people. Why can't you look at people's religious background as just a religion and view people as people.
Not all jewish people run hollywood, they aren't all rich (local community center hands out a ton of scholorships to jewish families so their kids can go to pre-school, gym classes, camps, etc. for free), etc.

Because it's NOT actually true. Maybe some people who happen to practice the Jewish faith have power in Hollywood. To assume ALL poker brokers in Hollywood are Jewish is plain childish.

If Hollywood is run by Jews, why the heck is Mel Gibson there!? "F@#%ing Jews... They are the reason for all the wars in the world..." Mel Gibson once said. Mel is part of Hollywood; why would he down Jews as well? BECAUSE HE IS NOT ONE (and he was drunk off his @$$!), and that he helps control Hollywood!

My boss is a Jewish carpenter
I know many middle class and lower middle class Jews. Worked with them and served with them in the Army.
Honestly, I've never been screwed over by a Jew, but so called Christians have shafted or tried to many times in life.

You know, that is a good question. I think the sensitivity of Americans is extreme. When I say that black's are the main issue of crime in America, everybody gets pissed off. Even though statistics PROVE that my comment is correct, people still get pissed off about it. We Americans are spoiled rotten brats that take offense to everything.
