He was Endora's brother, so where she was a real grouch and always serious, he was a true cut up and always sarcastic.And Darren was just so easy to pick on. He was like Endora sans magic. That might have made a good show Arthur and Endora, the early years.

Perish the thought! He was catty and campy. Uncle Arthur, played by the late great Paul Lynde, was the first actor who dared to act gay and b!tchy on TV. People loved him. He was the same way on Hollywood Squares. A real individual. May he rest in peace.
Or.....maybe he was just constipated.

Did you know that Paul Lynde died from using 'Poppers' which are a drug used to enhance sexual pleasure. Well they gave him a heart attack...and his partner (likely a young male prostitute or 'escort') just ran off...didn't even call the cops.
Maybe he had a vision of how he would die and that made him hate on everyone. I liked the guy....we both hated that witch Endora.
