she was born fine but when she was very young she had a high fever and lost her ability to see and hear, Helen Keller, you need to read the book or look up information on line for helen keller. her teacher was annie sullivan and she was amazing in that she taught helen to talk and write and become an educated woman of great culture, she was the worlds spokeswoman for the blind and deaf of the world for about 50 years. the keller family babied helen and treated her sort of like a pet rather than part of the family, annie was hard on her but she taught helen that you dont get anything in this world by waving your arms, yelling wordlessly and acting like a demented animal, so annie was harsh with her but it brought out the best in helen in the long run, rent A Patch Of Blue, with Patty Duke as helen, it will give you a two hour overview if you dont want to do your homework and read , i think helens first word was water, as annie poured water over her hand and wrote the word out on her hand.

Helen is a central character in The Miracle Worker. You have to read it to get the sense of her. She is Helen Keller, a woman who was deaf and blind. She was thought to be unteachable until Annie Sullivan started working with her. She grew up to be a famous orator.

The woman you mean was Helen Keller.

The Internet should have a wealth of information about this remarkable woman, as well as her Teacher, Anne Sullivan.

Do an Internet search for Helen Keller. Why is it that so many school kids want someone else to do their work for them?
