i was reading about the last days of John Lennon and John Ritter among others in a book called The Last Days of Dead Celebrities. I started crying all over again because i remember John Lennon's death so clearly. But John Ritter's death had a surprising impact on me. The circumstances of the show 8 Simple Rules was eerily close to mine when my dad died. My mother found out the same way, ran off to the hospital and we were two girls and a boy--my brother was the youngest just like the show. Plus i adored John Ritter the actor. Who had the biggest impact on you?

I would have to say we have lost many greats over the last number of Years but being from Canada I think John Candy was a big upset for me and many others. More recently John Ritter he was so young as well and appeared to be in good health.

Yes, John Ritter's death really bothered me. He was a genuinely good person, and the world is a sadder place without him. Also, Princess Diana's death was a shock. Another good person gone.

The celebrity death that has caused the biggest impact on me is Eddy Gurrero. He was a wrestler for the WWE Smackdown. I woke up early Monday morning November 14, 2005. (I will never forget that day. I even remembered the date off of the top of my head.) My dad said to me," I was watching the news, and I think Eddie Gurrero died. They just showed the clips and they're going to do the real story soon." I woke my brother up, and we saw it. They said they found him in his hotel room. There was no sign of ruff play. They didn't think anyone killed him. And they were going to do the autopsey soon. They even showed a picture of him so I knew for sure it was definatly him. I was so sad. I talked to one of my friends who loves wrestling. She said she couldn't belive it. Since it was Monday 'Monday Night RAW' was on. They did a whole tribute to him. All the wrestlers were standing next to his car crying. The whole night the wrestlers said something good about him, it was so nice. They even did it on 'Friday Night SMACKDOWN' also. I was so proud of him I even cried, too. They never showed the autopsey results. My dad said he probably died of the Cocain after all these years. He was always big on coke, and steroids. Although he died so long ago, it is truly amazing; you can't go one week in wrestling without talking about Eddie Gurrero. The wrestler always say stuff about him, or beat the other guys up because they say that person doesn't respect him. I think he is an immortal legend, and will be forever!

I have to say Princess Diana as well. I was seventeen when she died, and I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when we found out. She was a model of grace and beauty, motherhood and peace in the face of so much heartache. Supposedly my mom's family is related to hers through marriages, and I've loved her since I was a little kid. I even have a sapphire engagement ring instead of a diamond, because of that ring Charles gave her :)

Chris Farley, he was an amazing guy and proved that someone from my hometown could make it big.

I think the celebrity that has affected people the most is Elvis. So many people still celebrate his birthday and the date of his death. I don't think I need to mention the lookalikes and supposed sightings.

Princess Diana. I was a little girl when she got married and I always liked stories about her. I like the way she raised her sons to be charitable and the genuine quality she had of caring for people.

Phil Hartman

It just came out of the blue. He was a supremely talented individual still in his prime. For him to be murdered by the person that claimed to love him the most was just a complete shock. It really makes you think.
