my parents always hated my boyfriends--i always date dirty musicians and guys WAY too old for me.......i didn't really do it to piss my parents off--i dated the guys because our philosophies meshed and i liked them but on some level i would end up staying with the guys long after i had checked out of the realtionship because i knew my parents would be really happy that we broke up
so yes and no all in one

Sweetie, listen to your parents. They can see through guys better than you can. They have been around longer. I experienced that situation and I stayed with her until my folks gave in. We broke up shortly after.
