Yes. Woodstock, Vermont. No traffic lights, everyone knows the cops by name. They go door to door every night making sure all the stores in town are locked up. The only excitement they get is an occassional DUI.
All the vendors know our kids. Our kids go to town on their own, no adult supervision required. They close the roads every year for the Halloween Parade.
We leave our keys in the car when we park.
The doors on my house don't even have locks.
We're all very well armed.

RE:
Towns like Mayberry?
Are there any towns left like Mayberry? Sometimes after a day in the rat race in a very large city (Phoenix) I'd like to know there are still towns like Mayberry where there are people who will outlive us all because of no stress and a clean environment. Do you live in such a town? ...

Remember the other side of Mayberry: Everyone knew or thought they knew everyone else's business. There was little to no privacy. They could believe the darnedest things based simply on rumor. Anything you did was instantly all over town. There was a lot of bickering over silly little things. Everybody was connected or related to everyone else in some manner. Privacy did not really exist and literally it took a village to raise the child. (God help you if you were mislabeled.)
I grew up in Appalachia in a little area similar to Mayberry. If you don't require a lot of cultural events, then you can enjoy such an experience once you get used to having to be a little more open with others. You usually have to drive an hour just to hit good roads to get to wherever you want to travel.
Sadly, the youth are so bored in those areas now that drugs have crept in and they are not the safe little havens they used to be. I know Time did an article on the drug use (Oxycontin) in those quiet little towns.

I don't live in a town like Mayberry, but if you go down south, there are a lot of places like that.
You have to remember that the running every day does get to anyone, but it is difficult to live in a place where everyone is in your business and wants to know everything you do. It may sound great, but may not be something you would want.

Mayberry is alive and well in Mukwonago, Wisconsin. Small clean town, friendly people, lakes, fishing, churches, good schools, etc. & small town folks...no one locks their door, kids run free, and everyone knows you or waves to you. Lots of church socials, bingo...thinks like that. Here's the embarressing part...I was bored out of my ever lovin' skull. I guess I am a city dweller at heart...but I did appreciate a nice, clean home environment...and it was charming...for the time.

Ferndale, California...Less than 2,000 population...no Starbucks, no McDonald's, No fast food restaurants anywhere. My husband and I went there for their Christmas celebrations and fell in love with the town and the people.
The Main St is not very long and walkable, with wonderful old fashioned shops lining both side of the street. The post office (I tried to post a photo but this site will only let me load 1 photo) is very small and charming.
We saw this town in the Jim Carrey movie "The Majestic" back in 2001 or 2002...and I told my husband that I hoped we could visit that place someday...and we did.
