Marijuana is a beneficial herb, when not abused. The benefits out weigh the cons. The money spent fighting the war on grass would be better spent on education. The only problem is the pharmaceutical companies stand to lose the most upon legalization of cannabis.

Well, before legalization, there would have to be a whole system set up. Because you couldn't have everyone at any age smoking weed. Obviously, cancer patients can legally smoke pot when prescribed by a Doctor. However, most get in trouble when authorities find that some grow it in their back yard. There are people who get killed in drug deals as well, but half the time that involves harder drugs: cocaine, crack, heroin, etc. I don't think legalizing it would be terrible thing, but there would have to be some sort of system in place. People get high from it, and some abuse it, aside from the normal people who responsibly smoke pot moderately.

Right now, no.

yes, with strict regulations. Only in select marijuana "bars", or at home not in the presence of minors. You have to be 21 or older, can't operate any vehicle under the influence, not in public, etc.

But let's get real, it is less harmful than cigarettes and alcohol

yup...there has not been 1 case in world history that a death was caused by marijuana. The old excuse is that it causes cancer...pff...so does the aspartame in your diet soda.
Actually there have been some recent studies saying it helps the nervous system to regenerate new brain cells. Putting to rest the old myth that it kills brain cells...go figure.

In the first place, there are no illegal drugs. There are controlled substances. In the case of Marijuana, it is illegal to have, sell, or grow it with out the proper license in the U.S. Since the government controls the license, and won't give one to anybody, it is illegal to have any.

I believe it should be. There would be a less rebellious aspect of it and usage would go down. Plus is you were able to obtain it legally fewer people would get involved in the dangerous world of drug dealing.

Drugs of all kind should be illegal, including ones that remain available such as cigarettes. It is so pathetic when you think of our country's dependency on the tobacco industry, as well as the individual's dependency on drugs and harmful substances. It does have benefits, however, if a good system is not set up, it will be abused.

Yes. It should also be taxed, used for medicinal and recreational purposes in a controlled manner. It should also be used in the textile industry, used to make biodiesel fuel, ethanol fuel and many other industrial applications.
