Try one of the older folk songs. (This land is my land. in the key of G Major ) G C D. The chords in most folk songs match the words evenly with no hard changes. Also you probably know the words to some simple folk songs so you only have to fit the chords or notes to your speed. Good luck.

hmm the first song i learned was sweet home alabama by lynyrd skynyrd but lets see....maybe some bass lines like smoke on the water or seven nation army by the white stripes...

you can try songs with G, D, C chords on them.

try good riddance or leaving on a jetplane.
they're easy to follow and easy to play.
