I have always wanted to be Clara in our yearly performance of "The Nutcracker".I think there are other people who have better chances because of there famlies "helpfulness" to the company.

I need to know how to tell the company director I would like this part in a somewhat subtle way. I don't want to be pushy like some people I know, but I still want them to know I'm there and that I think I would be good for the part.

I would really appricate any help I can get.

P.S This is not a very large company and there is a lot of nepitisim going on.

Do you have auditions for this role or is it just chosen by the company leaders? If you have auditions, its pretty easy to make what you want known - you can tell them while auditioning without looking too eager, even if you tell them in a very excited way. If not, its trickier...

This very, very tender ground to walk on. I understand you really want the part, but if you come across too eager you probably won't look very good.

Is there a way you can practice at the studio during times you wouldn't normally go in? Showing that you are extra interested in dancing - and maybe that show in particuliar - will probably help your case. Also, make sure that you have no appointments, classes, or anything that might disrupt the rehearsal schedule.

Also, make sure you look VERY eager for the show - you can't appear too eager for the show itself, though you can appear too eager for a certain role. Good luck!!!!

No. organizations gained't settle for you. no longer because you're 'no longer skinny adequate' (it really is ridiculous) yet because you opt to have professional preparation and audition for a niche in an academy or at a organization. At 13, you nevertheless have an rather good type of teaching to bypass because you may grow to be a professional ballet dancer. yet no longer something may provide up you from because a good dancer. bypass for it!
