The best slingshots are those used by ancient peoples, which were strips of leather cut with a central pouch to hold the stones and two long thongs to hold it by. One thong would be longer, and slit, to fit around the wrist. The other is held in the hand. Held properly, the slingshot should be about the same length of your forearm. You place the stone into the pocket, and whirl this beside you in a forward and over motion. To let the stone fly, on the down motion you make a throwing motion (like pitching a baseball) flick your wrist and let go of the thong in your hand.

It takes a lot of practice to be able to throw accurately over any distance you choose. But once you get the hang of this it becomes a deadly weapon. The heavier the stone, the greater the impact. Try to use perfectly round stones as they give less wind resistance.

Okay, get a sapling (baby tree) that has a fork in it

chop her down

put it in somewhere to dry for about 6 months

take this fork and make it to the consistency of your preference

drill two tiny holes in the tips of where you want the band to go through

get a wide piece of leather and cut two holes through it

take a fat rubber band or something elastic and stick it through these holes

tie off
