NO WAY...People are in here saying "behr, glidden, ralph lauren" are good. NO! I am not saying this by opinion. I say this as an experienced contractor and reliable source. No paint from Home Depot, Lowes, or Wal-Mart is good! Please, please dont actually go there and buy any paint from them.
Ok...now.... go to Sherwin-Williams. They offer a few different paints in interior satin. Duration is the best they offer and is very pricey, but such quality. Super paint is also good, a little less expensive and another really good product. Style perfect is more economical paint, that will cost less, but still provide good quality and coverage.
I'm not sure how to convince you to NOT go to these other 3 places that the "homeowners" recommended, but I hope you'll consider my source and my experience.
ps- I did see a couple decent answerers in here that knew good paint (sherwin and ben. moore)

Top 3 are: Behr- Premium Plus Satin from Home Depot ($22), Valspar- American Tradition Satin from Lowe's ($19), and Kilz Casual Colors Satin from Wal-Mart ($17). This from the September '05 issue of Consumer Reports. Price is per gallon. They're all real close in quality. I chose the Valspar for my house, because it had the best rating against fading.

Benjamin Moore is one of the best but it's on the pricey side. Ralph Lauren brand from Home Depot is pretty good too. I've always paid a little more for paint because you get a higher quality paint. Use Purdy brushes, preferably China bristle. Good Luck!

Behr, Glidden etc. is for amateurs and homeowners.
Painters use Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore period.
Dutch Boy Alkyd was terrific paint 30 years ago but they joined the homeowner market.

For the money, consumer reports say Behr paint at the Home Depot. I KNOW they have one of the best websites for those who are color-challenged like myself, to help select and coordinate paint colors. www.behr.com.
However, I still usually prefer Benjamin Moore paint. It is more pricey, but it gives such great coverage that it usually requires less paint, so arguably it sort of evens out.
Since I've had to paint every room in our house, as well as most of my Mom's and mother-in-law's homes, I can tell you this: Benjamin Moore is the easiest to use - it sticks to your paint brush better (some paints are the consistency of milk and splatter too easily), and more coverage means less painting....SO, if you're the one having to do the work, this one's worth the price in my book.

Sherman Williams, Benjamin Moore and make sure you use a primer first for best results. Tint the primer to the color you'll be using if you are covering a bright or dark color.

Behr is a good paint, but it's expensive. I also like Kilz. It covers in one coat, and helps to cover stains from water and imperfections.
