Darren is floating in space. His mass with his life support system is 240 kg. He wants to return to his ship so he throws with a force of 10 N his trusty tool kit that has a mass of 2 kg.

Darren is a moron. if he intended to return to his space ship he should have tied himself on. anyway i bet he didnt throw it properly and the torque from his throw is just spinning him around in place with no tools, no tether, and eventually no oxygen.

Let's see... I think we learned about this mathematically in the 17th century (Sir Issac Newton).

Force = Mass * Acceleration or Acceleration = Force / Mass

So, 10 N / 2 Kg = 5 M / sec^2

Darren's acceleration is 10 N / 240 Kg = ............. M / sec^2
