Fabulous. First heard it when I was 10 and have loved it 35 years! The tunes are singable, the lyrics are often astonishing. Interestingly, the very sympathetic potrait of Judas coincides with the newly discovered Gospel of Judas - course, it only makes sense if God is all-knowing that Judas was cruelly used by God.
Jesus's interactions with Simon Zealot are so poignant. His people wanted him to use his power to free them from the Romans and he wanted them to see that who rules you is not important (especially if they provide roads and water!) because such things as political power are meaningless illusions.
My oldest heard it when he was 5 and it had a huge impact on the direction his unschooling took - lots of comparative religion and then, when he saw the movie, he was captivated by the soldiers and began studying Rome and the History of Warfare. At 13, he's more knowledgeable than any adult I know in european history. The influence of JCS still lingers, as he is now very interested in learning about Islam and the intersections between the three Abrahamic faiths.
What's the buzz? Too much heaven on their minds....

Haven't seen it complete, but the part I saw it was really strange not like the traditional image of Jesus and the apostles... I didn't like what I saw..

I like some of the music but don't care about the religious aspects.
Yvonne Elliman's songs "Everything's Alright" and "I don't know how to love him" are my favorites.

I saw it when it first came out. It was loud and noisy, it gave me a headache.
