35 mph zone, I was going about 43. The light turned red the moment I was over the double lines. There was a traffic cam pointed right at me. I didn't notice a flash though, maybe cause I was looking at the light the entire time. But the camera was right above the light. Do you think I will get a ticket in the mail? And how long does it take before I find out?

Yes, and you were speeding too.
Good thing you didn't kill someone.

Most likely you would get a ticket I mean think about it
1. Going 43 mph at 35 mph zone
2. Light turned red
but if ur front wheels passed the line ur alright

Probably not, the cameras looking at you are web cams for traffic control, not to ticket people. We have these all over Michigan and these don't deter anyone from running red lights. So don't worry about it, but stop running red lights, or you'll have worse than a ticket in the mail to worry about.

The camera will have tripped only if the light was tripped twice.
(two sets of wheels) if you got your fronts over the line, you made it.
If not, 15 days (or less) you will get a citation.
Now that I have answered your question..................
Slow down idiot. A guy like you wiped out my pickup, and my
Jet Ski, then sent my wife to the hospital with 3 broken bones.
He had minimum liability, and he didn't have enough insurance
to pay for my $45,000 truck let alone the Jet Ski, and medical bills.
All of this was paid by my insurance, which costs more now.
All because he was in too big of a hurry to stop for a red light.
Before it was red, it was yellow. A**holes like you should take the bus.

If you saw the yellow and still entered the intersection, most cops would say you did run the light. Yellow means clear the intersection not go faster.

no idea how long it takes to get a ticket in the mail. I'm sure it varies depending on how fast the police dept is.

Ummn, I don't know about a ticket for running a red light, but you may get one for speeding? Probaly know in 2 or 3 days.

ok i'm gonna tell you what a cop told me once.
Green means GO
Yellow means STOP
Red means STAY

if you haven't gotten a ticket by now don't worry bout it. But i know in chicago those cameras are set up to catch people SPEEDING through YELLOW lights. Which means you know you wouldn't make it with out rushing.

Maybe, But if there's not a clear picture of your face on the camera you can take the ticket to the courthouse/police station and tell them your friend was driving your car that night and they'll have no evidence that it was you and will drop the charge.

You have to enter the intersection after the light turns red to be in violation. As long as your front wheels were in the intersection when the light changed, you did not violate the law.

Incidentally, that is why lights remain red in both directions for a few moments - to allow cars already in the intersection to clear them.

No, unless they caught your license plate, they might not send you a ticket. Are you sure that flash wasn't from the light being red. Sometimes when the light's red then it flashes to warm other drivers that its red.
