consumer of CDs who does not download

I like the idea of being able to buy one song at a time as I usually don't enjoy most of the songs on a CD. I have yet to join a "group" for buying songs however. I have been considering purchasing a membership somewhere so that I can download, but I do not have an MP3 player or simular object to play them on.

i think it is wrong and okay its kind of a controversial subject. i think that its wrong because the songs are copy written but i think it is okay because the artists are getting paid millions of dollars to go on a tour that people are paying between 40-200 dollars to see. also, i think that people dont want to buy a whole cd for only one song they like. yes we do have the ones where you pay 99 cents for a song but why cant it be like 5 cents a song its just ridiculous how much you have to pay for things now, and people are just making it possible for those who want good music to listen to and live on the money they work for.

my opinion is as long as they charge exorbitant prices for media they will always have a problem and the oppression of the riaa just makes people want to download more. If they charged a fair price for media people would buy it. Another thing that is overlooked by the nazi-like approach of the riaa is that times are getting tougher and people have less to spend on entertainment especially with high gas prices taking all the money of their largest customer group ... young people. Bottom line is that times have changed with the age of computers and the internet being the main source of entertainment for many people now, the riaa and mpaa just need to quit blaming their less-than-projected sales on the kids downloading music because thats not the reason ... its the new times ... they need to revamp their marketing strategy and quit alienating their main customer group by classifying them as criminals .... thats how i see it ... thats my opinion ... and until they change their archaic attitude to their CUSTOMERS i will continue to download everything i can and will refuse to buy one thing ...

Music is supposed to be more than just money. I say all musicians should get jobs drive vans and play from the heart. The music is worth money but what about the lover that cant afford all those Cd's and subscriptions. Have musicians forgotten about their roots? Have they forgotten about the passion.?

I personally think it's wrong on both ends. It's wrong that people are stealing music, but it's also wrong for the music industry to overcharge their CDs. A guy I know's uncle is in a band, and he said that his uncle made a fair amount of CDs for about 5cents each, and sold them at $14 each, and made hundreds of dollars.

ok. well i think that for the artist, it's really bad because they aren't getting paid for their work. but for the fan, it's great because you can get any music you want any time without having to pay a penny.

It ruins bands. My drum instructor is in a band and their CD got leaked onto free and illegal downloading sites and they are basically ruined. It's crap.
