my mother in law uses a special spray that she buys at the craft store specifically designed for this. (blot gently afterwards with a dry paper towel) (this spray is designed to keep the "stamps" from drying out. Things like clorox wipes have a chemical that degrades the stamps.

I definately wouldnt spend the extra money to buy "Special" stamp cleaners. I have a regular soft, cleaning sponge that I use. You can just dampen it, and then wipe the stamp clean and use a regular paper towel to dry it. This is what I use, and I've never had a problem!

You can purchase a stamp cleaner. It is a double sided tray that you spray water on one side and rub the dirty stamp on it and them rub it on the dry side to dry it.
Or
You can put a couple of damp paper towel on a paper plate and then rub the stamp over it to clean it.

You can use a spray along with a cleaning pad (one side to spray on and another to dry them off on) from any craft store or Stampin' Up. This is great for cleaning and you won't get your hands messy.

Try baby wipes. They're mild and you get a bunch of them.
