Currently, lava flow has reached beyond the 6-kilometer danger zone. Residents were relocated for safety.
You may go to Albay or Legaspi City and watch the spew and lava flow. There is no danger beyond 8 kilometers. The Volcano is so big that it is so visible at 50 kilometers.

travel to Albay, where Mayon volcano is located, isn't restricted. even the daily flights haven't been cancelled yet, despite the volcano's activity. so i guess it would be safe to travel there.
danger zones have been established around the perimeter of the volcano, but if you just want to see the lava flow live, you can still observe it from a safe distance. i'm sure that observation points have been established for interested parties to enjoy the view.

Authorities predict it will erupt anytime soon. So far, it's been spewing pyroplastic materials. Yesterday, gov't officials and the media have gone as far as 4 km. from it's base to make ocular inspection but have gone back immediately for safety reasons.
