I hope that this question is about wanting to become pregnant, not about avoiding pregnancy. There is word for women who try to keep from getting pregnant by only having sex on certain days. That word is MOMMY.

it depends on how regular your cycle is. Every woman ovulates 14 days to the day before her period starts. That is the day you are the most fertile however sperm can live inside a woman's body for up to 7 days waiting for that egg to be released and after ovulation there is a period of about 2 days that the egg can be fertilized cause it is fertilized while it is in the fallopian tube. Now you have to do the math for what your cycle is. If your period is not as regular as clock work this whole thing is not very reliable cause it could vary from month to month but if you are always on time then its very very reliable.

you ovulate somewhere between 10 and 16 days BEFORE your period starts. not after your period. the average woman is 14 days. this part of your cycle is called the luteal phase. your luteal phase is always the same amount of days. it is easy to guess if you are regular---because you can count back so many days from when you are expecting your period. my cycles are 27 days, my luteal phase is about 11...so i ovulate on day 16-ish. since 14 days is average---then if you have a cycle that is 24 days---then you ovulate on day 10 of your cycle. if you have a period that is 35 days then you ovulate on day 21 of your cycle. but if your periods are whacky, then it would be harder to predict when you ovulate...unless you are taking tests or looking at other signs like increased vaginal discharge. anyway, keep in mind that it is approx 10-16 days...so that would be your window.

Most women ovulate on the 14th day after the start of their period so conception would occur within 24-36 hours.

I'm pretty sure you can get pregnant anytime during your cycle. My OB told me the best time to try is the 12th, 14th, 16th, and 18th day after the first day of my last period. Worked for me twice.

14 days is usually the norm, some women can have it as early as 7, and others can be most fertile 11 days later, but for the most part 14 is the magic number
