I think it is higher than most people think. When married couples think hard about their marriage and compare it to other couples that they know, I think they realize how lucky they are. Although, unfortunately, since nearly half end in marriage, it surely can't be higher than 50%

The math doesn't lie. We know that 50% end in divorce - and if you ask someone who's divorced "how many years were good?" the answer is typically about 1/2 the duration of the marriage. So that means a good chunk of the so-called "good" marriages are headed for divorce, they're just not there yet. Then when you factor in those marriages that stay together "for the kids" or "for the money" then you're left with a max of 1 in 4 marriages that are truly good, a MAX of 25%, so the real answer is probably 1 in 5 which is only 20%. And if I look back on all the weddings I've been to over the years and think about who's still together, the 1 in 5 seems pretty accurate.

Well...It's been said that two out of every three married people are with the wrong person, that's 66%.

While some work through it and make the best of it, many are very unhappy.

My guess would be in the range of 30% who are very unhappy!

Hang in there!

I know for a fact that my husband and I are very happy. We do fun things together and he always smiles when he sees me and gives me kisses and hugs, sometimes he just has a difficult time keeping his hands off of me in public!
