Looks like there are 2 camps. the Chauvanists, who have accepted all the propaganda about the so-called "Islamo-fascists" who supposedly want to make the whole world "non-secular", kill the infidels and get 72 virgins. Then there are the Thinkers, who have heard the rhetoric, but notice that the most rapacious and aggressive acts of terrorism are committed by the USA and its few allies. dOESN'T ANYONE REMEMBER BUSH PROMISING A NEW WORLD ORDER? This promise was made long before accusing the Islamo-fascists of wanting a new world order.

Tiko, can you explain your last sentence? I don't get it. Thanks

Well, I think I know what's going on. I'd put myself in the 'Thinkers' group. Those others are motivated by an inherent racism that surfaces only when 'they' attack 'us' (read 9/11 here, and those right wing nitwits love to exploit it).

As Chomsky said, if we want to stop terrorism, we ought to stop behaving like terrorists ourselves.

Cue litany of abusive answers from the right.

I mean, with this last sentence, that I expect there will be a lot of abusive responses from neocons to what I've said.

And you just stated what all the wars are about in the first place. There have always been two groups and there will always be two groups. I have to admit that I was beginning to get tired of reading about all the rhetoric about the middle-east, but I am now realising that it is needed. Too many will never accept the reality of being lied to but maybe a few will see the truth. This sh^t has got to stop some day. I don't trust any large government and I never will. I'm tired of being lied to.

Do you think that maybe this is why there is so much propagandised terrorism? They're tired of all the lies too. However, I would never condone the slaughter of innocents no matter who is doing the killing.

BTW, keep the questions going. You've got a good list so far. Maybe you'll make more thinkers out of the chauvanists.

True. Heard Bush tonight when he got back to D.C, and made my husband laugh as I said the same words just before they popped out Bush's mouth. He is, of course, playing this London plot to the hilt. Not a word out of his mouth about them all being small potatoes from, of all places, Pakistan. War on terror! Terrorists. Keeping America safe from terrorist. There were 29 of them! Terror, Red alert.

See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda." --George W. Bush, Greece, N.Y., May 24, 2005

My friend I think you are wrong there, there is also the few that think that maybe both sides are as bad as each other, and that it is nothing to do with religion but greed for power on both sides.
