if its a flatscreen, dont use a screensaver. Look in power settings, and set the screen to turn off after a minute. The less idle time spent on your screen, the longer it will last you.

It depends. Do you use your computer sporadically for long periods of time? Over 2 or 3 hours at a time every once in awhile? Screen saver should be set at no less than 15 minutes. Continuously... as in for work, etc.? 5 minutes...maybe 3. It's also YOUR preference. What is comfortable for your use? Try some different settings...see what you like.

If you're on a laptop using battery power > 3-5 minutes
If you're on a laptop while plugged in > 5-10 minutes
If you're using a PC > 10-15 minutes
It's all just personal preference really. Anything under 15 minutes is best, unless you're on a laptop using battery power.
The best thing to do though is to play with the power settings in your control panel and set it up so that your monitor turns off after 15-30 minutes of idle time.
**To get to the screensaver tab, right-click anywhere in an open area of your desktop and then click Properties, then click the Screensaver tab.**

Don't use them anymore. Too annoying - just when you are about finished with something complicated in design, the screen save comes on. You will have to go back to where you selected your screen save and look for the box that shows you how long before it starts. Select the time you want. Click on it and you can have it start from 1 minute to about 10 - 15 minutes. Whatever is the least annoying.

I don't have a screen saver ^^ cause when I'm listening to my music in another room, when the saver comes up, my music gets cut off. So there isn't a screensaver or anything. But typically 10 minutes if I had one.
